What options do I have for training?
DIR 101 Course –
Foundations of DIR-Floortime®
This introductory course is designed for parents, educators, and allied health professionals who want to build a strong foundation in the DIR-Floortime® approach.
Throughout the course, participants will explore:
- The developmental capacities in children and how to foster their growth
- Individual differences, including sensory processing profiles
- The relationship-based principles that underpin the DIR-Floortime® model
- Practical strategies for using Floortime techniques in everyday interactions
This ICDL-registered course provides a comprehensive overview of DIR-Floortime®, giving participants the knowledge and confidence to begin applying its core principles immediately.

DIR 201 –
Applying DIR-Floortime®
This 14-week intermediate course is designed for those who have completed DIR 101 and are ready to deepen their understanding and practical application of the DIR-Floortime® approach.
Throughout the course, participants will:
- 
Learn how to assess and support a child’s functional emotional developmental capacities (FEDCs) through real-life case studies 
- 
Explore advanced strategies for tailoring interactions based on individual sensory and motor profiles 
- 
Strengthen their ability to build meaningful, attuned relationships that support regulation, engagement, and communication 
- 
Reflect on their own role in co-regulation and emotional development during Floortime sessions 
- 
Participate in interactive discussions and receive guided feedback on video analysis and practice scenarios 
This ICDL-registered course offers a practical, hands-on approach for professionals and caregivers who are committed to using DIR-Floortime® in home, school, or therapeutic settings. By the end of the course, participants will have greater confidence and competence in applying the model with intention and depth.
DIR-Floortime® Mentoring: One-on-One Sessions
These personalised mentoring sessions offer tailored guidance for professionals and caregivers applying the DIR-Floortime® model in real-world contexts.
Designed to meet you where you’re at in your learning journey, one-on-one mentoring provides a focused space to:

Receive individualised feedback on your Floortime sessions and interactions 
- 
Deepen your understanding of functional emotional developmental capacities (FEDCs) and how they present in your setting 
- 
Explore strategies to address challenges unique to your clients, students, or children 
- 
Reflect on your role in supporting co-regulation, engagement, and relationship-building 
- 
Strengthen your confidence in applying DIR principles with nuance and intention 
Mentoring can complement your course learning (such as DIR 101 or 201) or be booked independently to support ongoing professional development. Sessions are flexible and can be tailored to specific goals or cases you’d like to explore.
